Wireless Security Alarms

Wireless security alarms are the bees knees of security systems for home use because they do not involve hiding wires under the plaster or behind skirting boards. Wireless security alarms are also more portable and more easily upgradeable, so you can add extra surveillance sensors or wireless security cameras later as you can afford them.

Wireless Security Alarms

Wireless security alarms are considered the best type of home security systems, because they are easy to install and easy to upgrade. It is important to maintain a reasonably modern home security system, so you will have to replace equipment as it is superseded by more up-to-date models. This is very easy to do with wireless security systems.

Everybody is more aware of the need of a security system for home use, especially with the recession that has befallen the world. More people are out of work than for decades and home burglaries have risen in number by almost 10% over the last five years.

In some parts of the country, a burglary occurs every 15 seconds. Unfortunately, burglaries often lead to physical violence and sometimes even rape and murder.

I was held at knife point in my home ten years ago during a night time burglary of my home. I had a decent security system for home use too, but I had switched it off because I was back from work.

My advice to everyone after my experience is to get a security alarm as soon as possible. Wireless security alarms are more expensive to buy, but they are much easier to install and very often these days, the labour charge is more than the cost of the burglar alarm kit. Installing wireless security alarms is so easy that most people would be able to do it as long as they can get up a ladder.

Depending on which of the wireless security alarms you choose, you may want to use an electrician to hard wire the main control unit and the external siren directly to the fuse board. This means that it cannot be unplugged and there will not be any batteries to replace in those units.

You will be able to buy the central control unit and the external siren as a kit probably, because they are always needed. The rest of the security system depends on the size and shape of your home. Try to buy all the parts you need from one shop and one manufacturer because then you will know that they are all compatible.

A typical property will have adequate protection with a home alarm system that consists of the following sorts of items:

1] outdoor security lights: one for each external wall of the house. These should be activated by motion detectors or heat sensors.

2] exterior doors and windows: vibration sensors or / and contact sensors should be fitted to each. The contact sensor will activate the siren if two plates are moved apart and the vibration sensor will warn if a window gets broken.

3] internal corridors: heat or movement sensors, because some burglars come in through the roof.

4] panic button on the control box by the main entrance and one or two devices lying around the house for added peace of mind.

Wireless security alarms that incorporate these units will offer adequate protection, but you might like to add a remote security camera and receiver or monitor as well.
